Canadian Chilean Author of Visionary Fiction
I read “Three Lotuses in a Sea of Fire” shortly after it was published in English”. Apart from the sheer pleasure of reading the book, it gave me an insight of historical events that took place during my lifetime through the eyes of three women portrayed by the author. The book is very well structures and documented, but to me, apart from its “technical” qualities, the primary reason why I enjoyed it so much was its human dimension and the emotions the author was able to bring to her readers. It’s one thing to read about what took place in other parts of the world or to hear about it on TV but this book shows how these traumatic events affected people to whom we can relate.
